gfish and I went to Wright park to get acorns for bread.
Walking down the road here is like walking through an illuminated manuscript. The trees are vivid gold and scarlet at the edges, green in the center, and fallen leaves rustle underfoot like paper. The wind is sharp and cold and smoky and gray as the sky. There are red-gold apples and smooth round horse chestnuts. Good day for blankets and fireplaces, for feeling the wind in your hair and leaves under your feet.
Seattle is so often watercolors, cool and blurred. Today is an oil painting.
