In which the average kinetic energy of the molecules of a domecile are to be increased

caladri and I need to warm our (Seattle) house! Please come help us make glass beads, cook in the fireplace, make pyrex shot glasses, play with naphtha, make s'mores, (and possibly smelt copper or sinter silver, depending on interest - there are only two of us, and we do want some social time), bake fall foods, drink cider, and generally be exothermic!

A long mellow affair, starting at noon on October 21 and going into the night til we're done. Show up and leave whenever you like.

Bring your own body heat; we'll provide the rest of the entropy. :)

Come?

Will you you help us increase the entropy of the house?

Yes, and you should include me in your dinner count. I wish to increase entropy by consuming chemical energy!

Yes, but I'll get there too late or leave too early for dinner. I will only contribute entropy in the form of fire.
2(3.4%)
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe. In the true spirit of this party, my arrival is dependent on random chance.
18(30.5%)
No, I live too far away/am not available/hate you/would rather set YOU on fire.

You're welcome to bring guests. if they have livejournals, they can fill out the poll. If they haven't, please comment to let us know. We'll send out directions closer to the event; everyone lost is not the sort of chaos we're aiming for. :)

*sigh* you picked the one weekend i can't escape.

Aw, suck. :/ It would be fun to see you again sometime. Going to Arisia this year?

*sigh* I miss so much living in Ohio. *smile*

:( will be in OH...

You should see secanth, clearly!

i do have another party-type-thing (a masquerade ball) to go to at 10-ish.
on the bright side i should be pretty dapper when i depart, no?

heh. but other than that, i'm in. and i promise i will not set you or anyone else on fire, at least not intentionally.

Promising to not set people on fire really isn't in the spirit of the party. I, for one, wouldn't mind covering corivax's arm in rubbing alcohol...

Ooh beads.

May bring John/Jodawi (of Bean West) if he wants.

Aargh, my stop by will be brief, if it exists at all, thanks to almost 12 hours in the ER last night.

(PLease, I'm going through a rough period right now which I think will not last forever... I'd be interested in future events, really!)

I eat almost nothing anyway, so at least that part will remain unchanged. Good luck if I don;t see you!

To clarify my answer, I'll be in another country, otherwise I'd love to :-)

We might have someone coming up from San Francisco, and that's really like a whole 'norther country, that is. :P YOUR EXCUSE IS FEEBLE AND WEAK.

Oh no! I would love to, but at that point I will either have a mewlingly tiny infant or else I will be so pregnant I will hate the whole world!

Aw, darn. But the phrase 'mewlingly tiny' made me grin my fool head off. I sincerely doubt this'll be the last fire-themed party ever, at least. :)

You should bring your practice poi, in the spirit of things. :) (And because I really want to try them.)

Oh, wow, I wish I could come to that; it sounds awesome!

One of these days I will just happen to be in Seattle when you're hosting something fun like this, and I'll actually get to meet you.

You are welcome to get ahold of me whenever you're in Seattle. We can teach you some glasswork anytime. :)

Alas, I live too far away. But a toast to both of you!

Will be there unless unforeseen events interfere...

... haven't quite figured out the living situation, though... How many domeciles are involved?

A pair of two domeciles is keeping you down. A housewarming party is keeping a domecile in Seattle down!

It may be too short notice to find plane tickets I can afford. If I can find any, though, would you want a visitor (or two, if gustaf wants to go, too) for the weekend?

I would be willing to subsidize you a small amount ($100ish?) on tickets, I think. I haven't seen you in forever, and we have many futons. :) If you wanted to stay the whole weekend, we could go to the Boeing Surplus store, or on a hike up to the ice caves, or kayaking, or some such fun thing the next day.

I would very much love to come, but alas I will be in Ohio on the 21st.

Have much fun with the house warming and the lighting of things on fire.

Your party lies over the ocean,
Your party lies over the sea,
Your party lies over the ocean,
So there I am not going to be.- Oh,poo...
The cow will also be absent, as he will be with me!
This is too bad, as it sounds really fun. I hope there will be another in a year or so, when I can get there. Have fun!

I think this is a fine educational opportunity for the Wendling.

I don't know how kid-friendly we'll be, with all the FIRE, I'm afraid.

Too far away, durn it.

Have lots of fun!

I may be seeing the Pirate Queen musical in Chicago that day. If I am not in Chicago, I will come to your party. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

I don't know how we could ever expect to compete with that, honestly :)

Wish I could go.

Move to New Orleans, and I might be able to make it. ;)

We'll be in Nola, volunteering with Hands, over Christmas break, if we can. You're an inspiration to me.

if a wirlwind picks me up and takes me to the US....

You could fly down!

I'd love that!

Darn, I will be away that weekend.

May I introduce you to my sister chaoselemental? It sounds like you'd have much in common in fire and glass, though her tastes run more to fire and metal.

("We can't do you metal and glass without the fire, though; the fire's compulsory. They're all fire, you see." "Is that what people want?" "It's what we do.")

Is this 'you should read her lj,' or 'can I bring her to the housewarming?' Either's great, of course; I'm just curious which. :)
